Naveen Khandelwal

Naveen Khandelwal is a seasoned leader in the Indian energy markets, with a track record spanning 22 years. His unwavering commitment to renewable energy has shaped his career, with over 17 years dedicated solely to this sector. As a founding team member of three globally recognized renewable energy platforms, Naveen has played a pivotal role in building gigawatt-scale wind and solar portfolios that now aggregate to over 7 gigawatts. Further, over the past decade, he has successfully orchestrated capital raises exceeding $3 billion for power and energy platforms. Naveen began his career with NTPC, India’s leading power generation company, in New Delhi in 2002, and has since built extensive experience in energy finance, steering numerous fund-raising and growth acceleration initiatives to significant success. His expertise lies in corporate growth strategy, finance and techno-commercial matters, and general management. His visionary approach is reflected in key accomplishments including leading India’s first domestic green bond issuance in 2017, establishing India’s first large-scale wind-solar hybrid project in Karnataka in 2018. Naveen regularly contributes his insights to leading national publications on energy transition and technology innovation. He also co-chairs Indo-American Chamber of Commerce’s North India Council’s sub-committee on Climate Change and ESG. He has also been recognized as one of the “Top 100 leaders in RE” by EQ. He has a bachelor’s degree in technology from Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur and a master’s in business administration from XLRI Jamshedpur. He also holds a CFA Charter from USA’s CFA institute. Naveen’s passion lies in innovation and forging partnerships that make energy more accessible, reliable, and sustainable for all.
