Following the resounding success of the Energy Storage Summit Series in Europe, the USA, and Asia, attracting over 2,500+ attendees annually — the world’s leading energy storage event made its debut in India, marking a significant milestone for the global clean energy community.
The inaugural Energy Storage Summit India brought together key decision-makers, innovators, investors, and policymakers to shape the future of India’s clean energy infrastructure. Co-located with the Renewable Energy India Expo and Battery Show India, the Summit delivered a comprehensive view of the energy storage value chain and positioned India as a focal point in the global energy transition.
The launch event took place at a pivotal moment for India’s energy landscape. With the country targeting 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and already achieving 209.4 GW of renewable capacity as of December 2024, discussions at the Summit centered on the vital role of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in ensuring grid stability, energy efficiency, and investment readiness. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Energy Storage Obligation (ESO) and Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) further underscored the government’s commitment to accelerating this transformation.
Across two days of dynamic sessions and networking, delegates engaged with developers, IPPs, utilities, financiers, regulators, EPCs, consultants, and technology providers to explore opportunities, overcome deployment challenges, and accelerate project development in one of the world’s fastest-growing energy storage markets.
